Listening has always been at the heart of strong health equity communications. Social listening gives us new ways to do it, at the speed and scale of the online conversations themselves. Some of the most valuable conversations are unfolding in TikTok comment threads, Reddit forums and Instagram replies, where communities work out what they believe about their health. Digital platforms are where trusted voices can also build authentic followings around the issues people care about most.  

Social listening is how we tune in. It opens a window into the language communities use to talk about racial health equity, the messengers they trust and the stories gaining momentum across digital spaces.
